Ten new CBC News jobs in Calgary were posted this morning. These, presumably, are part of the people given back to Alberta after CBC moved — er, “reconfigured” — CBC Newsworld programming from Calgary to Toronto: 4 reporter/editors Video-journalist 4 videgraphers Switcher-Director In what I’m sure is just a coincidence, only two positions are posted for Toronto this morning: Specialist in “Contract Management” Specialist in Automation

However you feel about Google’s implementation of software within YouTube to combat the publication of copyrighted content on the video site sans content owners’ express permission, the company has chosen to apply the technology as an aid to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) to help identify files containing imagery of child sex abuse, according to a report by Carrie-Ann Skinner of PC World. A worthwhile pursuit, for sure. NCMEC’s need for a more efficient system

I was perusing my WOMMA news and I found an interesting trend and development in the proliferation of social networks. Number of Latin America Social Network Users Jumps 103% According to Marketing Charts, the number of social network users in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico more than doubled between Jan. 2007 and Jan. 2008.
